Ministries

Through the work of our ministry teams we live out our call to love God and our neighbor in worship, service, teaching and learning, and caring for and sharing God’s gifts. To volunteer for any of the teams below, contact the Pastor or any member of the congregational  council.

Ministry Teams

The Community Outreach Team - Serving the local community through community dinners, the Community Dining Room, our Branford Festival food booth, and food drives and collections throughout the year. Nancy Putnam and Bob Peterson lead this team.

The Congregational Care and Hospitality - Caring for congregation members in need (such as prayer, rides to medical appointments, communion and/or companionship visits for our sick and homebound members) and hospitality to visitors through funeral receptions, fellowship dinners and coffee hour, and worship greeters and ushers. Kathy Benedict and Karen Gordon lead this team. To add yourself or a loved one to the Prayer Chain, contact Marie Bassett.

Learning and Faith formation through Adult Education and Bible Study, Christian Education and Confirmation studies for children and youth, Youth Ministry opportunities such as our annual Work Camp trips, and intergenerational events. Bertie Chuong and Kathy Benedict lead this team.

Stewardship of our finances, physical plant, and beautiful grounds, and all of God’s creation.
Tony Kowalski, Christie Day. and Bob Peterson lead this team.

Technology & Communications helps us reach out beyond our walls through social media, worship technology, and by creating memorable images of our life together. Kiersten Bjork, Bertie Chuong, and Lisa Huck lead this team.

Worship, Music, and the Arts - Our weekly worship service joins us together in community praise and thanksgiving through liturgy, music, and other art forms. Tabor has also been a long time supporter of the Arts in the Branford community, hosting concerts by the Shoreline Ringers and Branford Chorale. Kiersten Bjork, Bertie Chuong, Christie Day, and Bob Peterson lead this team. The faithful Altar Guild cares for our altar and paraments and is coordinated by Heather Loehmann.

Tabor Christian Community Preschool – is one of the most respected preschools on the Connecticut shoreline and has served the Branford and surrounding communities for more than 40 years.

Tabor Arts -Our program offers musical instruction to children and adults along the shoreline.
